Rohingya Refugees : 1st – 30th November 2016

Suthep Kritsanavarin

Photojournalist “Suthep  Kritsanavarin” has worked on an investigative report on Rohingyas since 2008. Suthep’s work has chronicled Rohingyas’ horrifying journeys from Burma and Bangladesh to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and even to Australia and their hardships in these countries with moving, passionate photos. At the same time, Suthep has succeeded in gathering comprehensive information that has heretofore eluded other journalists. Suthep’s photos as well as information demonstrate consequences of Rohingyas’ statelessness on individual Rohingya refugees, local communities, and governments.

One solution to this complex Rohingya problems is to begin an open, public dialog in these countries. The advocacy will take advantage of Suthep’s information as well as photos to target local and national authorities in discussing solutions to benefit Rohingyas and people in the community as well as governments. The campaign will also promote regional policies to improve Rohingya rights through ASEAN and international communities. At the same time, Rohingyas in communities in different countries will become aware of perils in human trafficking.
